Artista del granito met us at the Neptuno to measure where and how we want the granite. He will cut the main shapes in his workshop and then polish and finish the granite in place. At least the master bath will be installed next week.

Drainage from the balcony was  incorrect and so the concrete on the front cracked. This was repaired.

More cabinets were installed in the kitchen.

The tiles on the bathroom wall in the old maid’s room was “floated” with Bondex so it can be painted.

More window frames were installed. The frame for the sliding glass doors must have had an error because they were lowered over the balcony and taken away.

The water heater was plumbed.

We stopped at a furniture store and priced a bed. This model was good quality wood with a good quality finish. $273.

Goosebumps. I’m getting goosebumps seeing how close it is to moving in. Seeing how everything is coming together.

The grout was applied to the tile in the master bath and the toilet was installed.

Baseboards were installed and Bondex was beveled on the top.

Ceilings were painted and walls were painted with the first coat of the main color.

Tile patterns were decided for the guest bath.

Kitchen cabinets were delivered and installation progressed smoothly.

This is the table saw the carpenters were using.

Mike told the assistants and us that we would be able to start moving into the master suite July 8. Yay, yay, ya

Hectic! (Or utter chaos depending on how you look at it.) Tiles, concrete, empasté, electricity, stain, plumbing. All going on today.

Yesterday stones were pried off the balcony column and so it had to have concrete repair and empasté.

Stones and debris are bagged and waiting to go down the ELEVATOR!

Tiles were still making their way across the floors.

They had to cut the tiles in a line where the sliding glass doors will be installed. This allowed the tiles on the balcony to slope towards the front so rain will run off.

And tiles were cut into strips and installed as baseboards.

Concrete was troweled onto the kitchen walls getting them ready for cabinet installation.

Jorge applied more empasté onto some of the walls so that they will be ready for paint.

Electrician assistants were installing conduits for switch and outlet wiring.

Carpentero moved the door jamb of the pantry because we will paint that wall instead of tiling it.

Carpentero’s assistant was applying stain to door jambs.

Drains were readied for tiling. And just in case you couldn’t read our name, they repainted in grandé letters!

Now we are really welcomed!

The master bath got new tile on the floor. And a wall for the shower.

The old stones were removed from the balcony column.

More tiles were laid on the floor, making it into the east bedroom.

Electricity advanced today with work on the new circuit breaker box. And the wall was built out so that the cabinet will fit in the corner.

LED lights will be installed above the breakfast bar.

Tattoo anyone? Get it done on the beach!
